Collection Verification
What does it mean to be verified on SolSea?
When a collection is verified on SolSea, it means that our Collection Verification Team has determined that the person applying for verification is the actual author of the collection in question. In the case of collections minted outside of SolSea (e.g. using Candy Machine), our Collection Verification Team determines that NFTs belong to a verified collection through the first verified signer of the collection submitted for verification.
Does my collection have to be verified in order to start selling on SolSea?
If you minted your collection on SolSea, it doesn't have to be verified before you can start selling. However, due to user demand for increased security and protection from scam collections, we now require every collection minted elsewhere to be verified before they can list any NFTs for sale. Read more about how you can get your collection verified on SolSea below.
How can I verify my collection on SolSea?
If your wallet is connected and you are logged in to your SolSea account, go to My Collections in the left sidebar. Once you click on the three dots in the bottom right corner on your Collection cards, you’ll see a “Verify Collection” option. When you click on it, you will be redirected to the Collection Verification application form.
Alternatively, you can go directly to Collection Verification in the sidebar. Select the collection you wish to verify from the drop-down list and fill in the form as instructed.
Make sure to read all the instructions carefully while you fill in the form. You can find more information about the different fields by hovering over the blue question mark icon.
Why do I have to submit Proof of Authorship to verify my collection?
Proof of Authorship is a mandatory step in the Collection Verification process as the Team has to make sure you are the actual author of the work.
Do I qualify for collection verification?
To qualify for collection verification, you must have at least 500 followers/community members on Twitter, Instagram or Discord. If you do not pass this basic criterion, your application will be rejected.
Note that this does not mean that you cannot re-apply if you qualify later on. In fact, we encourage you to build your community not for SolSea's sake, but for your own, as this will boost your sales.
Our Collection Verification Team and Curators reserve the right to verify collections that do not meet this criterion.
How long do I have to wait for my collection to be verified?
The Team will do their best to go through all applications as quickly as possible, but please be patient in this regard. Your application should be reviewed between 5 and 7 working days after you submit it.
You can always check the status of your application by going to Collection Verification. In the drop-down list, choose the collection for which you want to check the status. More on the statuses below.
What is my verification status?
When you submit a collection for verification for the first time, your status will be "Pending verification".
If your application has been properly filled in and the Team has received all of the necessary information, they will either verify your collection (status message: "Your collection has been verified") or reject your application (status message: "The verification of your collection has been declined").
In case your application was rejected because of missing or incorrect information, you will be supplied with a message from the Team explaining which details you need to edit or enter in order to be verified.
At this point, you may update your verification application by editing the form and clicking "Update Application". By updating your application with the information requested by the Team, your status will change to "Updated" and the Team will go over the changes before assigning you the final status (verified if you provided all necessary information as instructed or, otherwise, rejected).
Note that if you do not meet the basic criterion (as explained in the question above), your application will be rejected.
How can I verify new NFTs I added to an already verified collection?
Whenever you add new mints (NFTs) to an already verified collection, make sure to update your verification application and request additional verification for the new NFTs. The reason this isn't an automatic process is to prevent fake listings from being added to verified collections, thus protecting users from possible malpractice.
Go to Collection Verification in the left sidebar and select the collection you wish to verify from the drop-down list. Update the form with new information as needed, then click "Update Application". In case you minted your collection on SolSea, there is no need to add anything, simply click on "Update Application".
